Cameron University’s bookstore is located on the first floor of the McMahon Centennial Complex.
It is a one-stop shop for all Aggie gear, clothes, course materials, supplies and software.
The bookstore also serves as a small post office where students and staff can purchase stamps and envelopes as well as ship small packages.
Manager George Woodwards said the bookstore receives many online sales from students all over the country.
“People graduate from Cameron and move off to New york, Florida, and elsewhere,” he said. “They want a Cameron University t-shirt, and they can order that through us.
“They’ll go to our website and see it, place an order, and we ship it to them.”
There are also periodical flash sales that last two days.
“All we do is put a sign out in front of the store and students come in and browse,” Woodwards. “Sometimes other items are included in sales, but it is usually clothes.”
While CU Duncan does not have a bookstore, Duncan students can come to the main campus and browse the books, or go online with the option to pick up orders or have them shipped to them.
Starting this semester a selection of Elf brand cosmetic products became available.
Another new item is a pair of flannel pants with Cameron written down the side.
One section of the bookstore has current titles on the bestseller lists, such as “The Girl on the Train” and the newest Harry Potter book, which Woodward said are popular items.
“The Harry Potter book sold out quickly,” Woodward said. “Corporate sent us more copies because we sold our allotment probably within the first week, which is good for us because everyone wanted it.”
Follet Higher Education Group is the company behind Cameron’s bookstore.
The bookstore is open Monday through Saturday during the fall and spring semesters, and the website is cameron.bkstr.com.
