The Physics and Astronomy Clubs held their first joint meeting of the semester at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14 outside of the Science Complex. Students gathered for a short meal finished with snow cones, a sweet treat that fell in line with the theme of an artificial early winter. Next, officers convened the meeting to discuss the semester’s agenda and prepare for upcoming events. After the meeting adjourned, club members participated in a friendly “snowball” fight. To craft snowballs at the tall-end of summer, students filled sections of pantyhose with flour and knotted at the ends before they hurled the makeshift ammunition at each other. The gentle projectiles only left white puffs of flour on the skin and clothes of their targets.
