At 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, in the University Theatre, the Cameron University International Club (CUIC) will present the annual International Students Book Scholarship Fashion Show.

Tyrell said CUIC has hosted the event since 2012, and its purpose is to raise funds in order to assist academically eligible international students with the high cost of textbooks and study materials each semester.

She said the majority of participants in the show are international students.

“A casting call was sent out and students were chosen on their desire to participate,” Tyrell said. “The audience can expect to be entertained by the students as they demonstrate their modeling skills and abilities on the runway. … You don’t have to be a professional model to strut the runway.”

Tyrell said she also hopes guests enjoy the various fashion styles that the models will present on stage.

“I’m looking forward to seeing all twelve segments hit the runway,” she said. “The models have been working really hard to make this fashion show a reality. … I enjoy seeing the models have fun, as well as the community supporting the event.”

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by calling CUIC at (580) 591-8091 or event coordinator Merita Tyrell at (580) 355-1633.

The proceeds will benefit international students on campus.
